The maiden in the tree….less captive, more free.

Inspiration for this poem came courtesy of Zigzagstripes blog and his lovely poem and photo which was perfect for me today as I seem to have run out of words, so you can find his here ….

…and days passed, and weeks swept by

as her branches reached into the skies.

And months fell and years went

as her roots dug down into the depths.

And her leaves danced in the sun light

and she became the most glorious sight.

Captive in the darkness the moon found

her shining light beneath her mound.

And her roots dug deeper into the abyss

and her branches reached for the sinful kiss,

and her leaves dampened beneath the mist.

Even mother nature cannot stop this.
